| 1st step (comfort and stability)
Prints |
|
![]() |
The primary prints are the first casts of your gums. Taken by means of standard print holders, those prints are rough. Since the spoonful has a general shape (small, medium, large), there are pressures, too many products at different places. The model of your mouth is therefore imperfect. |
![]() |
This is why we make "individual print holders". On the model obtained in the first step, we make an adapted spoon, at a calibrated distance from your gum, from your teeth, so we can take an ideal print with a well spread out pressure to get a very accurate reproduction of the shape of your mouth. |

We thus obtain the master model on which will be made, moulded and baked your dentures. |
2nd step (the best material for your smile) Choosing the right teeth |
|
The new techniques are wonderful for choosing teeth. The successful esthetic of dentures mainly depends on the choice of the teeth (materials, colours, shape, size) and how they are arranged. |
|

First, let's see how the teeth are chosen: 1. Choose a manufacturing company well-known around the world which will be offering a tooth imitating precisely the natural tooth. 2. The ideal tooth will be built by successive layers of acrylic with clearer and darker parts in order to look like a natural tooth. |

3. We measure the face with a mask suggesting the size of the teeth in comparison to the size of the face. If natural teeth remain in the mouth, their size will be taken into consideration. The shapes on the palate also help to determine the space occupied by the previous six teeth. |

4. The shape of the face will also indicate the shape of the teeth: square, triangular, egg-shaped or a mix of those shapes. We can usually say that the upside down shape of the face will be the shape of the teeth. |

5. The choice of colours is left free when no teeth remain but it is influenced by the remaining teeth, in the case of partial dentures. |

Those five parameters, together with our discussions with the client, will result in ideal teeth, the most anatomical ones according to present knowledge. Then, it will be time for the fitting of the six chosen smiling teeth (upper front) to obtain an approval from the client or to make adjustments. |

3rd step (start smiling) Teeth positioning |
![]() |
When the teeth are chosen, we go on to the positioning. We make a temporary plaque which will support the teeth in the mouth. The teeth are removable and held by wax, which allows us to position each one quickly, directly in the client's mouth. It is therefore easier to reach our common esthetic objectives. |
![]() |
If you wish, you can use references, for example, a picture of yourself with your natural teeth, a picture of your child's smile if you think it looks like yours, a plaster cast of your teeth which was given to you by another professional or old dentures which you liked. This technique is very interesting and, from this step, we start to work on the esthetic. Will the teeth be grouped together, regular, slightly spaced out towards the inside, etc.? Creativity is expressed by acting upon the clients' comments. A natural look settles in gently in the course of modifications. We have thus an 80% outline of the final esthetic. During this appointment, we register the parameters on the lower teeth length, the occlusion (when lower and upper teeth meet) and other facts which will allow us to position the mouth on the joint structure. |

4th step (a useful smile) Fitting of all testing teeth |
![]() |
Once the teeth are on the joint structure, we can proceed to the positioning of the other teeth according to methods which will allow chewing and stability of dentures. The joint structure is a duplicate of your head and your jaw. We so can have the teeth behave as when you are using them. |

We then go back in the mouth with the models to control our work and, again, we can modify any teeth positioning, if needed. Together, we analyze your smile and bring any necessary improvement. We proceed to the final baking of materials only when all our objectives are met and you are satisfied. |

5th step (self-respect and dignity) In-mouth setting |
| As we work with the client and as we pay attention to each detail when making your dentures, in-mouth setting is done enthusiastically. No surprise but only the satisfaction of rediscovering a beautiful smile, for self-respect and dignity. | |
